Cincinnati Adaptive Arts & Music Camp
July 19-24, 2026
Northern Kentucky University, Highland Heights, KY
Northern Kentucky University (NKU) is nestled in the scenic bluegrass hills of Highland Heights, KY, just minutes from the vibrant culture of downtown Cincinnati and convenient to the Greater Cincinnati Airport.
Cincinnati Adaptive Arts & Music Camp (CAAMC) is a collaboration between May We Help (MWH) and Adaptive Music and Arts Project (AAMP). By combining specialized engineering with adaptive instruction, CAAMC provides a camp experience where every person can find their voice, their rhythm, and their masterpiece.
Our Philosophy
We believe art and music is for everyone. CAAMC provides a vibrant, inclusive community where children and adults with physical disabilities can learn in a welcoming environment. Here, we celebrate the unique creativity and perspectives you bring to the stage and the studio. Our camp strives to create:
- An Inclusive Community: A space where you truly belong and build lifelong friendships.
- Training For All Skill Levels: Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time or you’re an advanced artist refining your technique.
- A Personalized Innovation for Each Student: In partnership with May We Help, our faculty and volunteer engineers create custom solutions and a Music/Art Adaptation Plan (MAP/AAP) tailored specifically to your needs.
Individualized Adaptive Music or Art Plan
CAAMC was designed for campers with physical disabilities to access musical instruments and artistic tools that are typically inaccessible due to the design of the instrument or art supplies.
The adaptive design of camp provides a multidisciplinary support team for each camper who contributes to their success in the week. The team includes the camper, instructors, OT/Prosthetist, volunteer engineer/designer, and parent.
Campers will leave camp with a Music Adaptation Plan (MAP) or Art Adaptation Plan (AAP), which provides a clear plan for techniques, an approach for ongoing instruction, and a prototype of a custom adaptive solution (such as instrument grip, specialized stand, etc.) the campers need to facilitate the successful use of the selected instrument or art medium.
Choose Your Path
CAAMC believes that passion thrives when campers have the agency to follow their own creative curiosity. At CAAMC, “Choosing Your Path” means more than picking a class; it is an invitation for a camper to spend the week diving deep into a medium that inspires them: Music or Visual Arts.
Note- Start and end times for camp will be communicated to registrants.
